This
year’s Christmas Fayre on Friday 6 December was a great
success with visitors very positive in their praise of
the evening and some commenting that St Matthew’s was
the best Christmas Fayre in the area and they always
looked forward to coming along. There was indeed a great
ambience to the evening, with visitors listening to and
enjoying both the band and our choir. This year we also
had the added bonus of the uplighters, generously
purchased by one of our congregation giving our evening
an extra special look.
A special thanks to our friends at Northampton School
for Boys who have supported two Summer Fetes and now two
Christmas Fayres by supplying their very talented
musicians at no cost, although we do send a modest
donation to their Music Department.
Of course the Fayre, like everything in our church life,
would not be possible without members of our
congregation donating their time, effort and
considerable energy – stall holders, helpers, cleaners,
the choir, organisers, in fact anybody who donated their
time and goods for prizes and stalls.
A sincere ‘thank you’ to everyone who contributed in any
way.
The Director of Music, Thomas Moore, is
looking to recruit BOYS from school year 4
to 7 and GIRLS from school year 5 upwards
who are keen to sing and eager to learn.
