The legal
requirements now having been satisfactorily completed,
we are delighted to announce that Thomas Moore BMus, MA,
FRCO has accepted the post of Director of Music at St
Matthew’s. He will formally take up his new
responsibilities from September.
Tom brings with him many gifts, notably a wealth of
professional experience at a high level having formerly
been director of music at Wakefield Cathedral, and prior
to that Assistant Organist at Peterborough Cathedral.
Tom, the brother of Stephen, a previous Director, is
familiar with St Matthew’s having previously accompanied
our choir here for services, recordings and concerts,
and whilst on tour. After a spell as a freelance
musician Tom has a passion to return to the music of the
Church and is enthusiastic about renewing and advancing
our musicmaking into the future.
A fuller profile will follow in due course; in the
meantime, we may be assured that the musical life of our
parish will be in safe and committed hands, and that we
can look forward to an exciting new chapter in the
on-going musical history of our parish.
